bushranger 19
The Irish Trials where thought up as a gameness test for the strong Terriers by the Irish Kennel club beginning in 1922, most if not all of them then were Kerry Blue Terrier people, up to then the best gameness test was a dog fight, one on one, but that was deemed cruel so they thought up the Teastas mor as a human and LEGAL way of testing gameness on badger,. back then the wheaten was not even a registered breed, but some of the best Kerry People had wheatens too, as the breed share similar origins. Latter on the trimming debate started by the English and the dexterity involved in trimming for beauty, was to much for many,in 1937 the breed soft coated wheaten was registered as a pure breed,. you can see were some of the blue coats that you get in some wheaten litters today still come from. The question; where the trials less cruel as a test than dog fighting? Quote Link to post
