djs7547 104
Just wandering how many of you work the hill in the day?? Hound crosses or any good hunting lurchers?? Only seem to find time for lamping lately due to work commitments etc, I enjoy day work mainly but I'm gutted I can't cover the mileage required any more on the hard welsh hills . Work the hills here in the highlands mate, its hard going and not for those southern softies....lol lol i know what you mean, about hard going. im off this weekend to one of the most tiring and hardest areas in scotland. In the past a few of my mates brought their dogs up here, their dogs were used to the flats and never really encountered terrain like this, after a few runs, they burnt out quickly. Best chases i ever saw were on the hills, takes a good dog to acheive a heavy bag full in those conditions. 2 Quote Link to post
Romany 1,065
Had some massive scores of bunnies off these hills..and also seen some dogs carried off, your right matie, takes the right dog to work there continiously and to the limit.. 3 Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
DOGS ARE NOT FOR SWAPPING,, THAT WHAT YOU DO WITH POKA MAN CARDS,,, I agree 100%, unfortunately its a tiny minority who think like this, dogs aren't born as thee finsished article, you have to put time, dedication and effort in, three things lacking in most lurcher "owners", the lurcher"men" im lucky enough to know put the work in and are also able to craft and mould what dog they have to make something a little better and special......
