littletimmy 71
The first run on fallow i gave my old bitch was a interesting one. Driving the fields on big open land so we was never far from the action. Slipped her with an experienced dog on a herd of 20-30, the herd split and the dogs picked differnt deer. Stayed with the one my bitch had picked and it was a pricket, maybe 90lbs or so. She hocked him and down he went, only to get back up and run, this happen no less than 7-8 times before she figured out how to move to the neck once it was downed. I Got some stick for that! Glad to say she improved her technique after this .. slightly lol. One of the last runs i had with her before it was banned was funny aswell, seen two fallow out on a hilly field. Walked up to them slipped, courses ensued, she choose the bigger doe, the second ran with the dog! sticking to her heels, would of made a cracking photo! With another dog running behind that deer. So in a straight line it went deer, dog, deer, dog. They must of been nomore than a foot apart either a the crashed through a thin tree line. Lucky for the fallow they made a safe escape.
