Guest what a flight
New laws that have been drafted in quietly and come into force from 21st july mean you can get shafted with 5 years jail if your caught in possession or trading in illegally held birds of prey, british finches, rare orchids. When you used to get caught with unrung raptors, you got an automatic 5 year ban from owning them and big fine, now they've added jail upto 5 years because the Biodiversity Minister jim knight says the courts need to punish heavily those who are making significant financial gain from our wildlife.Well all i can say to that regarding birds of prey/british finches{i know nothing of orchids other than their rare so can't comment:D } is what a load of bollocks .The amount of species being captive bred and close rung means theres very minimal amount of birds taken from the wild, wild unrung birds are worthless,so where do they get there mis-information from??.. most cases are only kids anyway taking the odd kezzy and spar or hand rearing the odd nest of greenies hardly deserving upto 5 years cot :search:,though whats a bigger piss off is you only hear of these laws coming into effect, there was no publicity regarding having your say on there drafting or making the statute books....
