3175darren 1,101
Hi can anyone tell me the best way to season hazel sticks, I am at present on the edge of the new Forrest, and I have taken the opportunity, to cut a fare few sticks for making quickset long-nets, normally I would leave them in the shed for twelve months to dry, but would they season quicker in the green house or would they dry too quickly, can I ask how do you do it, what is the best way??? bobert 2
i try to dry mine for stickmaking, i leave mine at least 12 months in the loft in the garage but i have force dried them in the airing/ boiler cupboard. it takes about 4/5 months if its a constant warm temperature. i've never tried them in a greenhouse but i dont see why that wouldnt work as well as the airing cupboard. give it a go and let us all know how it go's bob
