Trev Smilerface 38
Right ok i didnt think id heard of him........i think that was only an interim title that Casey fella fought for but still a top fighter nonetheless didnt he win a European title im sure i remember him winning one of the prizefighter tournaments though i might be getting him mixed up with someone else.......featherweight or bantamweight or something....i dont really like them prizefighter tournaments i just cant resist that York Hall atmosphere though Aye Willie Casey won the prize fighter at super bantam weight just last year.. Only had 12 pro fights and 1 defeat and i think 8 of them were by k.o. Johnny Frankham won the light heavy weight in 71 and 75 i think but not 100%.He got jail for ripping of old age pensioners

Never had the pleasure of meeting either of them . And yeah sometimes its best to give awide berth to certain people, theresa few round here know me and if i see em i'll say hello and chat if i have too, but wouldnt be nipping round for a cuppa tea and a slice of cake . AN AWFUL LOT OF THOSE FIGHTS ARE PURE SHITE IF THEY WERE HANDY AT ALL BE OVER IN A FEW MINS I NO SO MANY TRAVELLERS I LIVE AT THE BACK OF 8 FAMILES OF THEM AND GET ON WIT MOST OF THEM BECAUSE I WONT TAKE ANY SHIT OFF THEM AT ALL BUT HAVE TO SAY I SEE THEM WIT SUM OF THE OTHER PEOPLE IN MY AREA AND THEY TRY TO BULLY AND JEER AND JUS ACT LIKE ANIMALS WIT THEM I THINK MOST OF THE TRAVELLERS I NO ANYWAY TALK A GUD FIGHT BUT [bANNED TEXT] IT CUMS DOWN TO IT THERE JUS BIG MOUTHS Think if you dont back down from them then they will show you a bit of respect. I get on ok with most of the ones ive met. Even decorated a few of there houses for them and repaired some of the caravans. And in all honesty theyve shown me respect, even not giving my number to people for work before asking me, and touch wood never been conned for doing the work neither. But yeah you have a certain element that just go round giving it large and trying to talk the talk, but thats everywhere not just in the traveller circles. I find there way of life quite intruiging in all honesty, they do actually have some very strong beleifs in there way of life even though it may not seem like it to the outsiders. Rst 0
Not sure who Michael Smith is/was but certainly not a European champion in the pros......thing is it takes a lot more than big balls to go anywhere in the sport plenty of these travelling lads will have a tear up fair do,s.....but that will only take you so far.....skill,talent and a big chunk of dedication come into play as soon as you leave the caravan park ......the kid Billy Joe Saunders has the right idea he got away from all that bullshit and got himself into a good little club as a youngster and did things the right way.......he,s a pleasant kid with manners and a great temperament for the game.....a credit to his family and i hope he continues to improve. Michael Smith was european schoolboys champion. I was in the same school as him in crowthorne. So its going back about 25yrs ago, but certainly had talent at that age, but never heard about him since so i take it he fell to the wayside like many of them. Willy Casey has the talent if he can keep going, he was totally outclassed in his last fight with Guillermo Rigondaux for the WBA title. I really hope he goes on with it, his fmily do too. He's not, as far as i know mixed up in some of the stuff his relatives are into. Like you say to make it anywhere in boxing you have to have the dedication and commitment to get anywhere. Worked for michael smith for 5 years when i was younger.really good guy.heard from all the other travellers that he was one tough boy [bANNED TEXT] younger, and that no one could touch him.he married the sister of tommy frankham who was also supposed to be a tough fighter. Some experience working with these guys for five years all over europe.

So he never followed on with the boxing then, shame ....he had a fight with my brother in school, he used to wear all the rings on his hands. My brother said he'd fight him as long as he took the rings off, he did. He knocked my brother spark out in two punches....too this day my brother swears he only got hit once.....damned fast hands on him. And credit too him when me brother got off the floor it was a handshake and that was the end of it.
