1ST CROSS BULL GREY, OPINIONS PLEASE

Does anyone own and run this cross how do you rate them catch wise on the lamp, do they generally throw heavy set or can it vary, does anyone have any pics I can see

heavy set dogs mate good for working with terriers and out of window when driving land some are fast some are slow and can not turn to well

It really does depend the quarry and land you hunt to be fair, If your after a rabbiter and ferreter (Just going by your name) then my choice wouldnt be 1st Bull/Gh

I can't see why somebody would choose the cross over let's say collie for lamping rabbits, they are specialists in the hurt business!!

spot on, ive spoke of (Tug) before on here, and few other lads saw him work and he was Brill. He was staff x grey, 25in very strong dog. He could catch rabbits no prob, and good on foxes. i suppose the only thing he couldnt catch was a day hare , but had few in the lamp this was in late 80s. As long as they aint to heavy (70- lbs), and Tug as about 70 odd lbs they will catch most stuff,heavier dogs can still catch, but i think the above weight they are more agile to strike+pick up . Its how they come out some go to the bull some to the grey, if you drop lucky and get it right, they are good. I went for a 3/8 bull 5/8 grey, so i could get the speed but still have enough guts with this % .

I did forget to mention that bird no good on daytime hares but no probes on lamped I've now gone for a colli x bull grey dh just to try something different but I do like an out and out bull x perhaps this new dog will open up my mind to something else who knows but I'll give it a shot anyway atb donk

the reason there slow and cant turn to well is the dogs probly got sore wrists probly sprained by gettin thrown out at 40 mph must be the best way to f**k a dog up .

Any one got any pics, whats the best way to do the breeding the bull over the grey or tts grey over the bull, whats your preferance

i run rough arable land dry stony how would the bulls do in this type of land on fast qaurry pre ban, we have seen afew up nut some took alot of punishment when game s up and running . yo realy need to make sure there of distance greyhounds and lite bulls ones that are atheletic
