paulus 26
we might aswell do away with the 5,56mm (223) our armed forces use then and issue them all with 17hmr`s as the seem to kill everything in one shot from 100`s of yards away, we could save a packet in ammo costs aswell  Quote Link to post
Malt 379
..we could save a packet in ammo costs aswell  Don't be so fecking daft.. Everyone knows .22LR ammo is a lot cheaper than .17 HMR.. Shouldn't joke about it really, if our armed forces budgets keep getting cut at the current rate they'll end up fighting the taliban with f*****g gat guns and G10 repeaters.. Quote Link to post

Awesome bit of kit but the rifle itself looked a little busy. The 5.56 is in effective in its current theatre in a lot of situations, as it just doesn't have the stopping ability on somebody that doesn't have the same thought process as westerners. Hence the return of the 7.62 sharpshhoter LM7 and the HK 417. Only 100 yards?
