*ferrifleboy 19
Lifting or holding a dog by the scruff of the neck.. Yes or no? I do this with my 5month old pup at the minute when he's deep in bush or tight spaces, not sure I'l be doing it as he gets older.. Quote Link to post
welshydale 22
It's a good thing when ever i got a pup I get it used to be held by every limb possible as just incase I ever need to pull them from the ground or tight spaces at least it reduces the changes of getting bit Quote Link to post

Rhodey 96
Lifting a dog by scruff won't affect or hurt it. Quote Link to post
MUDD 374
This topic was brought up before and certain individuals thought it wasn't a very nice thing to do and that by doing so were not showing respect to the terrier. It caused a bit off a stirr but then again this is THL, doesn't take much to do that on here. Atb Quote Link to post
deadlyshot 25
i always pick mine up either by the scruff or tail and done it since she was young dont recommend picking up by the tail at such a young age though.. but it dont bother mine if it did she would soon let me know probably with a short sharp snap of the mouth Quote Link to post
Bryan 1,362
Holding by the scruff on the ground is fine, but off the ground after working it'll cause the dog to struggle to catch it's breath. Great for THL pictures though Quote Link to post
