skycat 6,174
I've been and found a particular dog of mine standing mesmerised over a warren, the same warren he's worked before, I love this statement mine would get a .You lot must be saints. Weasle: you misunderstood , though I admit it does sound a bit weird the way I wrote it. What I meant to say is that he's been and put a rabbit to ground in the same place as before. He works the long grass round this warren, sometimes catching the rabbits, other times putting them to ground: its on one of my regular exercising routes so I don't usually have a ferret on me, but the one time I actually ferreted the warren (its somewhere we shouldn't be) he came with me, so has never forgotten that rabbits do sometimes come out of those holes LOL OK, maybe his reasoning is a bit wide of the mark, lets face it, most ferreting dogs don't mark if you've not got a ferret with you do they. But the same dog has also got the patience of a cat, and I've sat and watched him watching a warren like a cat or fox, waiting for the rabbits to show themselves, and he's caught the odd one like that too: pouncing on it the moment it hopped clear of the hole. For any dog to show that degree of patience and commitment, well, I just have to admire the dedication. 1 Quote Link to post
