Ones running for it's lunch the other for it's life.

Its impossible for a dog to catch every Hare it runs, a good Hare, will always test a good dog, thats in daylight and its given fair Law, thats why it was such a great sport,

A good dog will beat a good hare 8/10 times

my mates were out yesterday with 3 real good dogs and a youngster had some really good runs but didnt retreive anything cracking day all the same. pissed me right off giving me all the details .as others said given a fair start hares take some catching for the next 2 months or so .

Its no wonder so many of you lads have to resort to lamping the hare in order to catch them, there must be some very second rate dogs about these days going by the the posts so far, granted a good winter hare given fair law can test a dog but a good dog will take more than it misses, fact,Mackay and co,you really need to see some better dogs,WM

Was the dog off colour? Out of shape? We will never truly know. Sometimes the dogs are made to look average, I've never owned a true bred coursing dog, but even with my 3/4 collie x greyhound pursuing the hare always got me more excited than any other quarry
