shell 42
Just thought I'd update you all on how the 3 survivors from Atols litter are doing. They are all going from strength to strength, although Reeba (the blue merle) had us a bit worried a couple of weeks ago as she didn't seem to be doing so well with the solids, and Atol was showing very little interest in feeding the pups anymore. Anyway, Reeba got the hang of eating and is doing really well now. They are 7 weeks old tomorrow, and had their first innoculation at 6 weeks. We've moved them downstairs now so they can get used to everyday sights, smells and sounds in the house. The beauty of them being downstairs and the warm weather is that they can be let into the garden. As soon as you let them out of the pen they go straight outside to do their business. They come when you call them, which is good in a way, but then they are responding to the nicknames I've given them! And they are just about learning 'fetch'. So all in all, coming on really well. The 3 of them asleep. This is Reeba. The only reasonable pictures I have of her, the others are just a blur of colour as she charges about that fast. She seems a very bright pup, not that bothered by being picked up for a cuddle, and would rather be off investigating and thieving (already yep!). She's a different body shape to the other 2, she looks quite racy, pretty much like a little lurcher. She's also got a kink in her tail which she was born with, but we're not bothered by that! And here's the collie dog, Tank. A big ball of fluff. Very affectionate and loving. Probably the most obediant of the 3, first to come when you call them, and the best at fetching you things he shouldn't have. He's a big lad, width wise. Probably as wide as he is tall!!! And finally, here's Red the Rebel. She the boss. Like Tank she's very obediant, but very strong minded with it. She's the one usually found hanging off your jeans when you clean them out. She's always telling the other 2 off! The most affectionate of them, she loves giving you washes and being held. But is an absolute psycho when she's running around! The pups charge about the house and garden with our other dogs and the chickens. Tick (spaniel cross) has taken them on and loves to play with them. The pups don't bother the chickens, they've all been pecked by them once and haven't even looked at them since. A handful to raise, but a pleasure. Blo*dy different to a litter of Border Terrier pups though!!! Shell Quote Link to post
