He has higher prey drive than any dog i have met.

i had a none ped whippet years ago , small little bitch 20in 20lb . She was great on rabbit day+night, but i think if you get a well bred lurcher that can handle all quarry pre ban , you got a better type hunting dog .!

depends what you want it for. I've seen whippets with less prey drive than a lurcher that is stood next to it, but i've also seen the other way round as well. Breeding, lineage and how a dog is brought on is a massive part on how a dog (either whippet or lurcher) turns outs and becoming a capable hunting dog. This running dog game is a lottery.....some do it, some don't!!! even if in the same litter, never mind the breeding.
