3 Friends shooting rats on a farm in Oxfordshire

Hi lads,

This is just some of the footage that me, Davy and Russell (AKA DogVixon) shot at a farm in the Oxfordshire area for its new farm manager.

More of this footage will be shown over the next few coming months.

The first part of the clip is filmed with my .177 calibre Weihrauch HW100 S and an IR300 illuminator from Nite – Hunter.com set on its widest flood.

The second part of the clip is filmed with a multishot .22 calibre mystery rifle that I and Davy are testing and reviewing for the gun maker (review to follow later in the year).

The illumination for this part of the clip was provided from a normal Deben Tracer Max lamp and homemade IR filter.

The Deben was turned fully up and you can easily see that the IR300 even on flood was brighter and loads better.

We also did a comparison between an IR300 and a N1000AP (3 witnesses but not in this clip) and the IR300 was at least 3 times brighter and better than the N1000AP at a paced 50 metres.

After we finished in the morning we grabbed about 2 hours sleep in our cars before going out again day time shooting where Davy managed a nice shot on a woody 30 metres high in a oak tree and i managed a 23 metre rabbit from a hay bale.

To finish the session we had a plinking session at small targets from ranges of 35 to 43 metres with all of us hitting some very testing targets in the breeze with precision.

Me and Davy also managed to get 2 lovely pellet touching pellet groups at a lased 43 metres on a piece of plaster board while Russell was going back to his car, Davy with his AA S410 and me with LJ's regged Ultra (nice work Phil on the Ultra i even managed a lased 53 metre standing unsupported shot on a small target on a pole, witnessed by Davy and Russell) The Ultra is amazing.

On behalve of all 3 of us i would like to thank the farm manager for signing the full written permission slips for VerminHuntersTV for both day and night time hunting with a guest (all vermin species).

To the old manager for helping in setting up the ratting session.

Enjoy lads

Si and Davy.

Proper job there chaps! love those sort of jobs. A couple of new farm contracts that i have just taken on down here had those sort of numbers but i had to go in big guns with a baiting campaign as time was an issue, still had a bit of mopping up to do with the stubborn hangeroners though.

very nice shooting lad's,and a good comparison between both ir illuminator's the nite-hunter ir 300 being the clear winner.looks like there's still plenty to go at....ste

Yeah thats a good point Ste about the difference in quality of the 2 illuminating items,

I was really just too lazy to take the IR300 off the HW and put it on the mystery rifle.

Si.
