Thanks for your input sir.............to cut a long story short ive been busy with a little project over the last few months putting a very large fish tank in a summer house/shed type thing in the gar

they have a float mate, that you adjust to the level you require the only part that needs to be submersed is about 2in up from the bottom of the pump and with submersibles it wont suck it dry,itl leav

Do you use R/O water for the topups/water change or rain water? They can be beautiful fish when people know what there doing with them seen some really dull ones but they were using tap water n not treating it properly. Sound like gonna be a good setup. When I got the space and money again gonna set up another reef tank something hopefully 6or7 x 2.5x2.5 I like deep tanks gives fish more natural environment

I use an ro/hma mix....tap water is reasonably hard round here so its essential really if you want to see the fish at their best.....i was into Discus back years ago when they were considered specialist fish but these days they are much more common, that said theres some real poor specimens being sold that i wouldnt touch with a barge pole its not so much tap water folk are just breeding poor specimens....ive bred the odd time but i leave that sort of thing to cleverer people than myself !....I had this tank specially made it was supposed to be 1000 litres but came out just over at 1030 the filter/sump unit is completely state of the art stuff its really impressed me.....the tanks very similar sizewise to this though mine wont be as overstocked as this one !!

Never really been a big fan of the marines i think its so hard to create an overall natural look inside a glass box the best ones ive seen always look real cramped to achieve the effect...but each to our own of course....hope you get yours up and running

That's a beaut that mate what sort of filter system you using on the new one ? And what did you use in the sump for previous tank. When you can get tanks looking like that then no need for all the extra stuff that goes with a marine.

Ps I look after your tanks for lodgings lol

Have you ever seen the Fluval G6 filters mines very similar to them....real complicated shit im still trying to get my nut round it......you control everything from a laptop !....im thick as shit when it comes to computers so its probably taking me longer than most folk to get to grips with it....

Ive had big Discus tanks before with just normal sponge filters, with Discus the water changes are so important the filter dont really get a chance to build up too much, because they are almost constantly in fresh water the sponges suffice....but must admit ive gone a touch overboard with this new tank :D

Give us a shout if your ever down this way mate come in and have a nose.
