Hi, if you are buying a PAYG phone this christmas, then here are some free sim cards which you can use if the phone is unlocked.

They are giffgaff (part of O2) but they currently have the best pay as you go tarrifs available. if you top up by £10 you get unlimited texts, umlimited data internet and 250 cross network minutes, For £15 you get 400minutes, free internet data and free texts (all unlimited) etc..Plus you get £5 free credit when you first top up by £10 ( and i also get a credit if you use my link. If you go via the giff gaff site you don't get the £5 credit. im using my sim on my iphone which saves me a fair bit of money on internet use.

ps- your handset has to be unlocked or able to use O2sim cards.

Does the top buy the minutes and texts or are they free when you top up like on o2?

the top up buys a 'package' where the minutes are included with free unlimited internet and unlimited texts. so for a £10 you will have 250 minutes, £15 = 400 minutes. The top up lasts one month but the phone calls don't rollover. Also Giffgaff to other Giffgaff calls are free so if you and your family members are on the same network, you won't have those minutes taken out of your package. giffgaff is part of O2, however it doesn't have a call centre for problems etc- instead the website has a forum where all problems are addressed, discussed and resolved. this means that there are no real overheads such as paying call centre staff which enables the savings to be passed on to the customers. also, if you introduce someone else to g.g. then you will receive a £5 bonus which can be claimed every 6 months, you are able to introduce as many people as you want. you only get your bonus if they top up by a minimum of £10 first time. They also receive a £5 as long as they use your link.
