happylamper 7 Posted January 13, 2012 Report Share Posted January 13, 2012 morning all,after just taking up abit of salt water fishing i live near the east coast but not showing much cod at the moment just wondering if anyone knows were i could travel too also name some good fishing marks not up for going on a boat as yet,and don't like the idea of climbing down cliffs.thanks. cadvice 4 Posted January 13, 2012 Report Share Posted January 13, 2012 your in a great spot mate bridlington from the wall that's only open through the winter normally fishes well late evening through the night for cod and whiting. free bait from the rock pools just above brid crab etc this also does well for bass but it's a bit hit and miss just like all bass fishing expect to lose a lot of tackle on the rocks. filey brig fishes well this time of year but ruff weather rouge waves and the chance to get washed out to sea might not be your idea of fun. closer to your home there's a old abandoned jetty with a deep channel running out hull side of the river nearer the sea I'll ask my bro where it is next time i see him loads of decent flatties if you fish into the channel. if you really want decent cod your best idea is take a boat out.
