They should be fine kept together for the moment. But if you don't want young, seperate as soon as possible. Looks like they will be coming into season early this year due to mild weather. As for feeding, mine have dry food in the hutch constantly, with meat being fed as and when, with any un-eaten meat taken out the day after, but can be left in longer in cold weather.

Likes been said they should be fine for about a week together (that's when I think mine will be coming in to season) then separate them. But you will need to bring the jills out of season or it can be dangerous, there's been a few topics on this recently have a look at them :) mine get fed at meat, whole rabbits carcass anything like that at about 6ish just because it works fir me at that time, in winter on a morning I give them a bit of dry food so it's there all day for them. The odd egg and bit of goats milk is also good for them :)

atb happy hunting!

You will need to seperate the ferrets come breeding season or have them neutered so you can keep em together al year round.

Mine have dry food down all the time, big heavy dog bowl so they cant tip it up and they also get raw meat.

What is this with leaving food down all the time? You's lot must have some fat ferrets, especially with that dried muck. I do occasionally feed the odd hand full of dried food, but to leave it down all the time, well, that's not good surely? Ferrets are carnivorous and feed large meals when they are available or caught. Fasting ferrets is just like dogs, a must, unless you work them every day.

My tip all be it a bit late, would have been to read up,have a good search around on this forum & whoever gave you them to give you basic welfare advice before you took the ferrets on.However they are straight forward to look after....clean,dry,warm,secure housing, fresh water, fresh flesh diet & plenty of handling & treat them with the respect they deserve.

Do you fast once, twice a week then? The only thing I would fast is a bird of prey prior to flying. Never really been into starving my animals.

Ferrets have a very small digestive tract and use up the food they eat very quickly therefore they need to eat regularly through the day. My ferrets have constantly got fresh meat in their court and they are very fit and healthy I do however work them a lot.

i keep my dry food in one of them hopper type feeders...just top it up every few days and plenty of fresh water.. I drop em rabbits etc etc every other day or so..

I always give em the fresh liver/hearts etc etc at the end of the day when i,m gutting the catch..as a treat..lol

they are slightly chubby not fat with a healthy layer of warmth..I never starve em before going out.
