Certificate (shotgun)??

i have had a shotgun certificate before but sold the guns and didn't renew it so no longer have one.

 

wanting to apply for 1 again but not sure if i will get another 1 or not. i have a criminal record since giving my 1st certificate up, nothing too extreme just justice of the peace stuff. is there any chance??

A lot depends on the exact nature of the crime and how long ago it was. Theres less chance if it was for violence than if it was for petty theft etc. As long as you can show you are a reformed character and are embarrassed about your past then theres every chance you might get it. its nothing to do with violence etc, just stupid things that i had reasons for doing. i will phone up and ask to apply again and will keep yous up to date

The fact that u didn't renew is not an issue

My mate let his laps,he had held a sgc for 5 years and never bought a gun the tight sod,he re applied and got it back at his expence.if the record is petty stuff like u say I would go for it.I know of people with sgc and I know they have had dealings with the police in the past,theft etc to say the least They are not very nice people,personally i would never issue them one, in your case mate I dont know the ins and outs of it but none violent I think u have a good chance,technically when I got done for speeding the other year I was classed as a criminal lol.give them a call

Join SACS before you phone and remember the licencing department often give their version of the law on certificates rather than what it actually says in the guidlines. PM me if you need any help with the forms etc.
