Moll. 1,770
they way i see it is i wouldent like to runn around all night chasing things on a full stumack. jmo That is why you feed about 7hrs prior, so they do not have a full stomach, but will have absorbed all the energy they need for a hard nights work from the meal. If for example you normally feed your dog at 11pm. Then you go out the next night lamping till 2am then the dog will not have eaten for 27hrs!!! 2 Quote Link to post
stripes 401
Always fed mine after the nights work,, and if you are feeding your dog regular every nite,, with a high ash protein then youre dog should have all the energy he needs,,, fitness has a big part to play in it. If dog is fit and well fed every nite there shouldnt be a problem feeding after work. Quote Link to post
frankel 2,123
Depends what you feed your dog mate.. Quote Link to post
Matt3699 142
a full feed 8-9 hours before lamping and a feed when there finished for the night and full feed again 8-9 hours before lamping the next night and they will run the same again.. if your dog has ever experienced cramp a tin of tomatoes in the feed aswell that will stop that.. i suppose it depends on how much your running, mine are running all night so need plenty of fuel to burn off I took my Pup out on a pretty long walk last weekend and she couldn't sit still when I got back for about 2 hours. Moving from one place to the next and whining. I figured it was cramp but didn't know how to help her... Tomatoes you say... Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
I'm sure others will advise...but I feed ours a very light supper of scrambled eggs before they go out at night. Then it's a good BARF feed (tripe, chicken, offal mix with brown rice/pasta and grated veg) when they get back and I often leave some beef stock to heat up and pour over it, if it's a cold wet night. can i live at yours Yes! Everybody laughs at what I feed the dogs. They have herbs too, raw in their meat....it really improves their coat. herbs??? rasta dogs Herbs not ganga - they wouldn't be fecked to run! Moll. 1,770
Depends what you feed your dog mate.. And depends upon the levels of work. For a local look out here, for whatever i would not feed in the morning. But for the bigger nights out where you expect many runs i do give an extra feed. You can see the difference Quote Link to post
