johnharris 177 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 What are your thoughts on feeding before taking your dog out lamping, do you feed them before taking them if so how long before and also would you change what you feed. I feed mine Red Mills with minced raw chicken normall, would I be better feeding a higher carb meal such as pasta or rice before a night out Quote Link to post

Then it's a good BARF feed (tripe, chicken, offal mix with brown rice/pasta and grated veg) when they get back and I often leave some beef stock to heat up and pour over it, if it's a cold wet night. I personally would not give them anything for at least 7hrs prior Flick. A well fed/conditioned dog should not need the extra energy just prior to working. Dogs in the wild lie down and sleep after a good feed....infact so do i 4 Quote Link to post
