Hi Rob,

The Sony Handycam way and IR300 illuminator is alot cheaper than the Pulsar buddy.

Im not willing to say at this time if the IR300 will work with or better than the Pulsar and its illuminator as Ive not tried and tested it and that would be wrong of me.

We are testing it against a Pulsar and with a Pulsar tomorrow night when DogVixon comes ratting with us and brings his Pulsar.

Ill post the results sometime next week.

well what i found out today off one of the daystate forums, is that the scope i have is no good for the job, i dont know whether this is true, because he might be saying to get an mtc scope just cos he got one and its more expensive than mine, and that my ir on my scope will damage the night vision :S..is this true? plus you have to have parallax adjustment and so on...so basically im gonna ask you what you think, i got a hawke panaroma 3-9x40 ev ao ir scope lol and will it work because for some reason everyone seems to say that its only "certain" scopes that can be used and it wasnt just that guy it was a thread, and their all high mags too, or are they just favouring there desired scope?(to make me go out an spend more money on top ) lol edited to ask again..does the ir recticle damage your setup? lol

hi Rob

yes he is right,"DO NOT USE" the IR on your footage,i know this at my own price!!!

The three of us was (scope cam) ratting Friday, and we all had different scopes.mine being a MTC.

parallax adjustment is crucial IMO when scope cam filming, and also a bigger objective! to let more light in

crack on with your 3-9x40 and see how you get on,if its not right then change for a 50.

hope this helps

so it will work, just down to how well? i had the impression, that it WOULD NOT work lol aslong as it works ok out to 30yrds, 35yrds, im not to bothered tbh...i never shoot further than that really, i have done, but i dont think im that experienced yet to take shots of that range on a regular buisness so dont bother..can you use ir on the handycam setup or is this still a no no and for what reason? and i also read something about ao sights cancelling out the diffrent parallax's or something :/ im not to upto date with scopes as all iv ever used before now, was nikko stirling 3-9x40 and then i had hawke night eye 3-9x50ir, they broke and the shop took it back and give me the newer version so they said and that was 3-9x44 ir, but this scope i have now is the first ao ev ir lol mouthful ehh? thanks for any advice, i need some on this scope ...i know roughly whats what, like the yrds if you think the target is 25yd put it on that or if its about 30 turn it a tad more, so it gets clearer..or am i wrong again? iv zero'd it to 30yrds with it slightly right to the 25yrd mark, any opinions welcom here as like i said im not to up on the scopes of AO lol
