COULD ANY ONE HELP IM LOOKING FOR SOME DISTRESS NOISES (EG RABBIT) THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD SO I CAN SAVE TO MY MP3 PLAYER, SO I CAN PLAY WITH SPEAKERS OUT LOUD WHEN IM OUT CALLING THANKS ALOT ANTHONY

i think you may be right , why buy a caller when you can do it by mouth with a little practice , half of these fancyover priced american callers are more designed to catch the mugs and their hard earned money than the foxes or coyotes

It is illegal to use any pre-recorded sounds of animals in disstress. saying that there are a few on the market at the moment but i suppose its a classic case of it not being illegal to sell them, only illegal to use them.

I believe it is legal to use the destress calls for foxes but elligal for corvids (crows etc)

That would mean that squeaking in foxes is illegal!

Even that can be done under license . The bird control units at all major airfields use recorded bird distress calls in their work, to disperse problem birds from the airlanes.

With the air rifle, I used to call Wood Pigeon in when shooting them in Pine woods using the old blowing into cupped hand trick.

 

Was able to get a 'conversation' going and after a while the Woody would fly over to have a look (probably at what is making such a stupid noise) but I like to think it was fooled.

 

Either way, ended up in the bag.

Titchy, if you go to the 100 top hunting sites that appears on the homepage look for Varmint Al's website. It's a good read and some interesting snippets, although i don't have a clue how you download them.

I think that may be different though - the use of call recordings to disperse animals is not the same as using records to attract them in and kill or take them.

i know on Ebay they sell them from time to time
