Moll. 1,770
Crikey! Normally my neighbouring farm doesn't have any lambs til march. I notice the woodpigeons nesting round here too. Lambing time is dictated by humans not the seasons...Ewes can concieve any time, it is up to the farmer when he puts the tups to them
JohnGalway 1,043
It'll be April for mine this year, but there'll be a good shot of them around in March and no doubt the odd "show lamb" hidden in some shed or other in Feb or who knows maybe this month... I assumed they'd be like dogs (ie coming into season periodically).

unlacedgecko 1,466
Sheep come into season when the days start to shorten. Something to do with the amount of daylight, similar to hens laying. Show stock can be brought into season early with the use of inter uterine sponges. This is because officially all show lambs for that year are born on 1 Jan. Any born before then are officially born are on the 1 Jan the year before.
mossyh07 64
Natures gone mad. Have seen lambs, new born leverets and the birds are singing and courting like mad. Makes you wonder how the seasons could end up.
