sandymere 8,263
Few are physios, chiropractors etc but most learnt by practice rather than having recognised training as such. Some genuinely knowledgeable people that are very accomplished at finding injuries and planning treatments. But a lot of dodgy ones as well. I was taught when i was younger but soon realised it was mainly a con. The whole idea of backs being out of line is a little far fetched what we really found were muscle spasms, acute injuries, scar tissue etc. Most of the so called realignment was showmanship. Recently I've come across two people suffering strokes following neck manipulation, one a young woman, early twenties, very hard to tell someone in their twenties they have had a stroke, work was by a fully trained chiropractor. Bearing this in mind I'd avoid letting someone carry out neck manipulation on man or dog, see link below. http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/chirostroke.html
