skycat 6,173
CAn he not get a lawyer (£££?) to help get the rest of his dogs back? I doubt they'll last many more weeks in those conditions . It's about time someone somewhere set up a fund for this sort of thing to help innocent dog owners in a time of need. Is there such a fund/organisation?

Is there such a fund/organisation? Without going in to too much detail mate, it depends on the outcome at court, then after that the 3 dogs he's been charged with as being of "type" will hopefully be returned. Why the others haven't been returned already is the confusing bit. The other dogs have all been moved from the place that neglected them now to somewhere that is looking after them, he's not allowed to know where or see them, I never thought I'd say this but it is the RSPCA Inspector that has sorted the move out and who is keeping the lad in the loop now. I don't think there is a fund, BUT, I think the best any of us can do is to make sure we join the SACS then at least we'll have the legal cover to fight a case, as legal aid is not available to cover prosecutions solely under the DDA. Guest elstudro1986
that is sick and disgusting the way they have been kept i would let all hell break loose mate... any pics of them before they were taken away
AKA-BRINDLE 879
Have heard that a few of the other dogs returned are also in a bad state so this may not be an isolated incident there was also talk of a couple that died of parvo while being held people are probably just happy to have the dogs back alive to scared to rock the boat and complain about the state of the dogs but this is abuse and neglect so dont let this drop Aarron, just shows the contempt many have for the dogs we love was talking about the ulcers/sores on the dogs hock to a mate he said it could be a result of the dog laying in its own piss for a long time, hope your mate gets the rest back and quick. just out of interest, did the 2 lads you mentioned who used to run the SIBTC get a pull or any dogs taken away during all this? Not as far as I've heard, no. But then it was their mate the dog warden that was on the raids, so who knows, I doubt we ever will. Think it was 4 or 5 dogs that have died from Parvo whilst in kennels. Mate had 3 pups taken, 16 weeks old at the time, one of those is dead, Police reckon it was "kennel fight"
Strong Stuff 2,171
Biopsy results back today. It is Cancerous. My mate would 100% have been onto that lump when it was in it's first stages, as soon as it appeared he'd have seen it. But instead the lad has missed out possibly the last 3 months of this dogs life for what? So some c**ts could take his dog, starve it and give it back a shadow of it's former self, am absolutely gutted (and extremely angry) for him. What a sad end to an Old Warrior. skycat 6,173
What a bummer: can they not operate? Or is it just the tip of an iceberg, medically speaking.
Dawn B 212
Im really sorry to read this, does the Vet think if it was seen earlier they could of done something about it? Dawn,
Strong Stuff 2,171
Skycat, the vet is in touch with Liverpool University to see if Radiotherapy/Chemo would be of any use, another option is to amputate the leg, but as the dog wasn't well enough to do a biopsy until he'd been home for 4 weeks I can't imagine him being strong enough to consider that, and even then, He went into those kennels a big fit healthy lad, he' a shadow of himself now, it's not my place to say what should happen, so I'll leave it there. Dawn, I don't think the vet would answer that question, or even if he could answer it. Either way the bit that matters is that it wasn't spotted sooner so couldn't be treated. (I don't mean that to sound harsh, it's just the way it is)
Stabs 3
That's f*****g shocking. I am gutted for the dog and your pal
skycat 6,173
I agree: there's no way that dog should have its leg amputated. IMO the only dogs that can cope well with that are tiny terrier sort of things, and even then I'd never put a working dog on to 3 legs. Harsh maybe, but life's tough enough without having to handle that sort of infirmity: I know some would disagree, but that's just my opinion.
