the_stig 6,614
Right lads,we're all aware of the problems we face from antis ect.But my point is ,year after year it is becoming harder and harder to find foxes to ground.Up here the weather is up+down, and even when we have heavy snow, rain or frost ect,We tend to find them'laying out' Ive spent more days at the rats this year, for the simple fact that the dogs are getting worked. We've spoke of the new generation of fox,i.e new habitat,Breeding times. Are we going to loose, over time, the traditional country fox???And back to the title. Is the Digging game F*cked??clachan Would love to know how things are in other parts of the country.clachan i gave trying a few year back and have only done rats for the past few year to keep the dogs doing a bit these 4 terriers i have here will be the last i own .. not worth the hassle for me -- Quote Link to post

IME FAIRLY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO CARY OUT PEST CONTROL ON A FEW LARGE SHOOTS WHERE THE KEEPERS ARE KEEN ON POACHERS WITH RIFFLE OR RUNNER. JMO. hedz31 1,308
They are still out there ye just gotta look the biggest problem i am having at the minute aint the weather or anti's or rifle men it's fecking tyro terriermen digging earth's and leaving them open and completly wrecking them, there's nothing more annoying than going out for a dig to a spot ye know that's gave ye good sport for year's only to find some fecker has dug it and ye know it will never hold again no matter how well ye try and fill it and make it how it was, also ive lost alot of good spot's over the last few year's to new houseing seem's every fecker want's to live in the countryside only problem is when all there house's are built there will be no counrtyside left any how enough moaning i am still getting some sport 3 Quote Link to post
diggory 130
started 30 years ago digging, and probably half the good spots i used to do have disapeared.....mainly due to new housing, development etc.what really worries me atm is the young uns in my area(not all of them ) they seem to have no idea how to conduct themselves as regards back filling, common sence, treatment of quarry etc..this is after they have been out with the older, more experianced lads in the area, trying to show them the ropes 1 Quote Link to post
