Nothing much worse !

my dog done it a few times when he was a pup had to resort to giving him a few kicks up the arse

waits every time now

Not being funny, but for the benefit of people who are maybe wanting to learn something: wouldn't it be better to train the dog to 'wait' on command, rather than kicking it for doing something it may not know is wrong? Or were you just trying to be hard?

The dog listened all the time just had a few spells out with the lamp where it was getting carried away as a pup

theres nothing hard about at all , but a quick clip on the nose sorted it straight out it knew it was doing wrong and i didnt mean the first time he ever done it

i obviously learned the dog my way but sometimes he just got carried away the dog waits every time now both of the dogs do

i could take these dogs out with anyone anywhere i wanted and not worry about them messing about .

not been funny but......I DO IT MY WAY SKYCAT NOT THE WAY YOU SAY IT SHOULD BE DONE :victory:

That explanation makes a lot more sense. I've done the same on occasions with stubborn dogs that push you all the time. I'm not one of those treaty-softy people who never correct a dog if it is just being pig headed.

I know we all just post without thinking sometimes: I just don't kick dogs, well hardly ever :tongue2::laugh: and there's that many numpties who take posts at face value cos they can't think for themselves!

back to original topic guys,

pup doing my head in, retrieving dummies, balls, bunnies, birds allsorts since 10 weeks old

now 11 month old doing well catching on the lamp on dunes, golf courses, pasture, stubble etc really getting there.

she just won't bring them back, go out in the morning and she retrieves ace! sit, stay, fetch, over, straight back from any cover reinforcement training brill

back out at night follows the beam, turns tight, strikes well , returns to hand when the lamps off but no effin retrieve

so more reinforcement training / retrieving practise next morning and she's ace again

aaaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Couldn't be arsed with that mate - had it all before. Do yourself a favour and ditch the idiots and halfwits...even if that means you're out on your own.

Decided 6 months ago to shed anyone in my life that wasn't going to bring positivity to things. There's a few gone and one or two more to ditch...it's a good feeling...try it!!!

Ha, ha, ha, - couple of them will be reading this - aye you know who you are!!!!!

Have you tried retrieving practice at night with the lamp? My last dog did the same and this did help, though she was never 100%
