Stratton 0
8 is too old generally for a maiden bitch. Edited January 10, 2012 by Stratton Quote Link to post
christian71 3,187
Had a first litter from my Russel bitch last year she must be 8 at least. Had to try her 3 times with the dog before she took tho. Everything went fine...ish FTB Hmmm. I think that says rather a lot about you. And not in a good way. The words selfish, self centred and irresponsible spring to mind. No decent dog man worth his salt would contemplate lining an elderly bitch of unknown age ("she must be 8 at least") to produce a first litter. You had to try her three times and everything went "fine....ish".....??? Pratt. Oh....and if you use the 'old chestnut' that I'm a woman again, you'll make yourself look even more of a twerp than you already are. Go away and learn how to look after dogs properly before you spout such drivel. I bought a chocolate bitch off preloved that was 13 years old. She had never been bred off before, i put a chocolate dog across her that some bloke had round the corner she had 5 pups. And i got £400 a pup each for them, happy days Edited January 10, 2012 by christian71 Quote Link to post

FightTheBan 1,147
Yes, definitely as funny as I remember. LOL. Maybe you'd be better off putting it in General Chat though? This is the Earth Dog section after all.....just a thought. But thanks all the same....it certainly brightened up a Tuesday afternoon! Do ye work ye tyke's lass or they for the summer show's ye wouldnt happen to keep border's would ye ?? Hi Hedz....not Borders, no. I was given my very first terrier by a friend of my Dad's. I was 11 and very into dogs, but hadn't actually owned my own. He was very game but soft as butter with me. Have always had terriers from the same chap....I'm 37 now. You seem to have nicely avoided Hedz question... Do you work your terriers? If so what to. If you expect anyone to take you seriously you should at least give them that. No one asked your age. Guest busterdog
There's more and more show stompers on here than genuine WORKING terrier MEN lol, i'm with FTB, if i had no other choice to save my line i'de take a litter from the bitch. The fact it's her first litter shouldn't matter at all, as long as the bitch is healthy then there shouldn't be a problem, and if your in doubt there's alway your vet to keep a close watch on the bitch. If the worst comes to the worst and it's a c-section then so be it, if that's such a problem then theres a few of the bull breeds in deep shit. Quote Link to post
Flick75 32
Sorry Hedz, didn't mean to avoid your question.....yes, our dogs have always worked. To all quarry (pre ban) of-course. I've not shown my dogs, but do enjoy a good Terrier and Lurcher show, so nothing against them. Edited January 10, 2012 by Flick75 Quote Link to post

Flick75 32
Really? I'm saying I disagree with you and from what I've read, I don't rate you as a dog man. You don't actually say much about dogs or indeed anything of much substance.... you just seem to churn out the same tired jokes. That's all I'm saying. Flick75 32
My Dad was big into digging, so is my husband, to a lesser extent. It's always been part of my life. And I know about dogs. If you're asking whether I dig three times a week, then no, I don't. Quote Link to post

If your husband or dad wants to talk dogs im all ears, but I dont think I will be reading from you again. This forum seems to attract the desperate housewife type and I for one have no time for them. But Im sure others will. Al just place you on the slag heap alongside Fcuktheban, buttermilk, crobinc etc etc 'And I know about dogs'...in your opinion. Cheerie FTB Quote Link to post
Flick75 32
Gosh. You really don't like women do you? It probably stems from a bad experience...eractile dysfunction or similar maybe? Listen, do try to let go of these feelings...they're just eating you up inside. And I'm sure you're not too bad a chap really. P.S. I'll pass on your message to all the 'men folk' in our family, I'm sure they'll be beating a path to your door as I type... P.P.S. I'm not a housewife. Quote Link to post
