If we all want more running dog content in the EDRD mag, why dont we pick up a pen and write a few articles then??, it doesnt have to be in the best queens english, and he wouldn't give a f**k about t

It was the greatest dog/hunting magazine in the world until Whin fell out with it....now it's shit..You never hear about Whins dogs or salmo's or rabbs or big stubbies, Bob, (who owned him, I forget!!

just wondering, i started my subscription to this mag last month and got the dec issue. but havnt received the jan issue. is it issued later in the month? just checking my sub fine

I took out a years subscription, used to read it years ago, have to say i have been disapointed in the running dogs imput,

i also think its more a Terrier mag,

i think internet sites like this has not helped, as you can read everything you want on here, and other sites, and if there are posts that dont interestyou, then you ignore, I wont be taken out another subscription.

The Editor of this magazine, has always been a good pal to me, and I am amazed, that he still manages to keep it going :icon_eek:

It must be a colossal task to come up with the goods, each month, year in, year out...

As a running dog enthusiast, I would like to see more articles and stories about the jukels, but the fellow can only print what he is given. I don't know what the answer is,...but, it would be a great shame if the magazine were to fade away...

There was a time ,.long ago,..when ED&RD was the only voice of truth and freedom that the lurcher and terrierman had and for that reason alone, I would try and support it,..and always remember how things could have gone...

All the best, Chalkwarren..

Theres no point us people sitting back and saying theres not enough lurcher content, apathy is no excuse, lets give the man some f****n lurcher material so ALL of us can enjoy it.

Dave Harcombe, as has already been said, is a gentleman, and does us all proud to carry on with the mag, he's not getting any younger, so lets make his task a bit easier and send in some material.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

Hi to all, so I've never owned a whippet before and have encountered an irritating habit that got worse in the last month of ferreting and was wondering if anyone out there has had success minimising noise during ferreting?
So he runs prey silently, almost never barks at home so I was very happy going into his first winter, but.... when the ferret slot machine is not paying out fast enough for his liking he yips at the holes he senses are near the underground action. On top of that, if he runs a bolted rabbit to ground again he persistently barks at the hole while constantly looking at me as if to say "get them ferrets over here mate, I've got one for you"
I've a very experienced collie lurcher who is a dream to ferret with but the whippet seems to make no reference to the good stuff he does. Any ideas on managing this?
