cragman 2,763
My lad and his girlfriend have been out there just over a year now and they love it. He's near Toronto. Mind you, he's got a cracking job and is enjoying every minute. He was home for christmas and returned last friday. The Canadians don't except anyone, they're a bit like the aussies in as much as they don't allow free loaders in...unlike here!! I do know that they're keen on folk having the right visas and some sort of trade. If you'd have asked last week, my lad could have told you more. I'm over there in September to visit. He did say that if he didn't have family over here, he'd stay, the quality of life is fantastic and the people are sound.

If your lad is living near Toronto (where I come from originally) he'll know. They've a massive immigrant population, plenty of asylum seekers and benefit stealing piss takers. It's not a problem unique to this country, that's for sure. ScotCarper, Calgary is a beautiful place. Always said if I went back home I'd look at Alberta first .. nothing to do at all with the cowboys in the stampede You will find all the information you need on the Canada immigration website. Do your research, get it all right. Don't use one of these agencies that say they can apply for you, most of them are frauds. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp You might do well to get full sparky qualifications before you go out, as it will help you score higher on the admission test. Having family there will add points for you as well. Get all your ducks in a row here, before you leave. Don't go and try to immigration from within the country 'cause they will just send your ass back. Regarding hunting, I don't know much about it there. Plenty of folks use staghounds for coyote far as I know. You'd be best off googling some of the hunting holiday outfits maybe, and asking them to point you in the right direction for information. Most of them do bear, moose etc but they should know the basic info about the rest of it.
cragman 2,763
He's not mentioned anything about that, but then he's only been out there nigh on a year, so being an incomer he'll know nowt about it and it obviously hasn't affected where he's at (Hamilton). Maybe if he was there for years he would become familiar with the set-up? He had a nightmare getting sorted out with a visa, ditto his girlfriend. However, it would seem that doing things legally and above board and working for a living, counts for nothing, anywhere in the world. lurchergrrl 1,441
cragman, Hamilton is really far from Toronto I grew up in that city. My uncle used to live in Hamilton. They're like two different worlds all together. Immigration to Canada got really hard after the American 9/11 thing. They don't make anything easy ... Unless you're an asylum seeker, that is. You'll enjoy it when you're out, for sure
scottish carper ingram 40
thanks for the replys folks as for a criminal record i dont have one, when i was originaly going to go my friend family were going to adopt me and take me on their family visa (i was 16 then and with being 22 now i dot think they would be able to do it the same way), wish i had went but hey u live and learn, with regards to the sparky qualifications, i dont have any as i only worked as a self employed mate as part of a 3 or 2 man rewire squad, although i have referances from top council clark of works from edinburgh and all over argyll and bute, but a suppose referances are useless without qualifications, the qualifications i hold are a pass in NC Agriculture and a credit pass in rural mechanics, as for school i didnt do to well haha much prefer doing something hands on thanks again for the replys, ingram
