i was out cleaning the runs this morning and i thought i could hear a house alarm going off. it was actually a black bird singing, mimicking the sound of a house alarm. alarms go off regularly around my way. it was defo a bird singing as i listened for ages and got the wife down to hear it as well. it sounded exactly like an alarm.

Yeppers. I'm with Mist Net on this one. The thrushes all sing pretty much their own regular songs. But Starlings? Just no telling what they're going to come out with next. They both have a tendancy to do it from a high point too, though Blackbirds favour tv arials more, especially towards the days end. While a Starling would as soon sit on any part of a building, taking the piss out of us :D

WELL LADS ,

A LOT OF BIRDS WHO DONT MIGRATE ...... HAVE REGIONAL " DIALECTS " TO THERE SONG , SOME MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE THAN OTHERS ......... AS A POINT IN FACT ..... THERE WAS A STUDY DONE ON STARLINGS ... IT STATED YOU COULD TELL WHERE THE STARLING WAS FROM BY LISTENING TO THE SONG AND PICKING CERTAIN OTHER NON MIGRATORY BIRDS SONGS OUT

PERSONALLY I THINK THE STARLINGS AN UNDER VALUED BIRD , WITH A FANTASTIC PLUMAGE

ALL THE BEST
