the right lurcher for me?

im mainly a digging and ferreting man but ive got a young patterdale whos ideal for bushing, im thinking of getting a lurcher maybe end of this year, start of next year, what would every one reccomend? my mate is breeding his bullx with a blue mearl bitch he has, both out standing dogs, i just thing there going to be too much for me, i was thinking down the lines on a good size whippet x ?

That would be a cracking mix I would of thought mate you'd have enough dog for your pulling when digging and a bit of brains and toe for your bushing it won't be to much if trained properly but a collie will take the piss if not shown who's the boss I would snap one of these pups off your mate atb chris

if its bushing you want the dog for mate then you cant go wrong with a whippet x. basically you just want any small to medium sized dog so its got the acceleration and turning ability needed for bushing. a collie grey x whip would be my ideal choice for this! but im sure many others will reccomend a good beddyxwhip for this work as they are also cracking dogs!

this is a personal choice of which dog suits you the fields you are going to run ect. if i was in your shoes i'd grab one of your mates dogs can't go wrong with that mix

He's also saying he does alot of digging mate so he needs an allrounder his mates pups are spot on all-round pups + he knows the breeding I think he would be pretty silly knowing this and not taking a pup given the fact of all the shit Wich is being bred out there but who knows if he just wants it for bushing and ferreting a beddy x whippet but if an allrounder is needed snap his mates hand off atb chris

thanks guys, there has been some excellent pups produced from from the dogs in the past, my other mate has one of the last pups that is nearly 3 now and its an awsum dog! plus randomly the person i bout my bushing terrier from has a male pup from the same litter and is also an awsome dog! oh and the mearl bitch isnt a straight collie, its collie bull grey but dont look like there is any bull in them!

If you know both parents work well and you've seen previous litters working and were impressed then i think you've answered your own question. Why get something random where you have to trust a strangers word when you you can have something bred from stock you know thats thrown offspring that you've seen working?
