rocky1 942
Not a sending off in a million yrs , showed how strong city are OR how weak united are , any team down to 10 men and 3 nil down should not be able to turn it round the way city did , i think united are droppin down to Arsenals level now bringin back great players who arent great anymore , if city progress over the next 2 seasons the way they have the last 2 they will dominate english football . I seem to remember Utd winning 4-2 at Highbury with 10 men a few years back against a team containing Veira, Pires, Henry, et al. It was 2-2 at the sending off, IIRC.. scholes is a utd legend, but theres a big difference between training wi the reserves and playing a 3rd round cup tie against your neighbours,he was out of his depth, kinel i was cringing everytime he got the ball fergie needs a replacement, and let us remember scholes for what he's done in the past Don't be too hasty Craigy mate, check the stats. Paul Scholes: 71 passes after he came on (97% completed) More than any blue shirted player managed in the whole game.. ..or so I just read! did,nt see that before i wrote my comments
gnasher16 30,281
after coming on after 60 mins ,paul scholes made 71 passes [97 %complete ]more then any man city player in the entire game ,some comback I think its sometimes best not to get too wrapped up in statistics they rarely tell the truth......i might be wrong but i think they class a completed pass as a pass that your team mate touches before your opponent does simple as that......from the bits ive seen of that game today there was a lot of times where Scholes put his team mate in trouble, yes it was a completed pass but not a good one and one that did more harm than good........these little 10 foot passes sideways and backwards dont make a great player from what ive seen Scholes looked heavy legged and out of touch.
