Hawk Poem

Just been clearing out my Keep Folder and came across this:

NATURE'S LOAN

I'll lend you for a little while,

A beautiful hawk of mine

For you to care for and enjoy

For an unknown period of time.

The years, they may be ten or

More, or his days they may be few.

But will you, `til I want him back,

Treasure him as I do?

He brings with him my secret truths

And though his demeanor's wild,

You'll form a bond most unique

Like a parent with a child.

I can't say how long the loan will be,

Since all from Earth must return,

But with each day there's lessons taught

Through hawks that you will learn.

I've looked the wide world over now

For a falconer as good as you,

But on my list of worthy ones,

There are only but a few.

Will you give his soul the flight it needs

And keep him well maintained?

And not hate me when the contract ends

And I take him back again?

I answered in all sincerity,

All you ask, it will be done.

For all the joys this hawk may bring,

The risk of loss I'll run.

I'll train him with a gentle hand,

And fly him when I may.

As for the trust you have in me,

More thanks I can not say.

But if you come and call for him

Much sooner than I prayed,

I'll know he's in the best of hands -

With the One by whom he was made.

Beleive it or not Chaos I get contacted by the person who ships them asking me if I can provide birds again with certain Parent ring numbers because the foreign falconer wants that line again to fly, this proves that no way are these birds just lost in the system.

Right then mate lets see if you can come up with the goods? If I breed 15 Harrishawks this year are you going to provide me with 15 genuine falconers from this country who you have personally Vetted to come and buy them :hmm:? some how I think not!! also are you telling me that every Falconer is the perfect role model in this country or any other? I'm afraid not either!! Its been proved in the past Breeders can Vet someone who on paper comes up with the right credentials but they'll still f**k the bird up some way or perhaps even end up killing them, there's far to many Book readers and Internet warriors who talk the talk and sound good on paper but can't fly or care for a bird while I have a hole in my arse, the trouble is how can we Gurantee any bird dog or whatever is going to the right hands? its impossible....

Are you also telling me that Breeders who ship their birds out such as Gyr's and Gyr Hybrids or whatever in Bulk to Arab states know and vet each and every Falconer ? I also know another breeder who shipped out around 70 male Gos's in 2006 to Japan which I'm sure ended up in good hands!!! wake up and smell the roses mate....

YIS

[how do you know these birds are cared for over there, and why would they want the same line surely they would have the same bird if they was any good :hmm: and as for the gos's i also know the breeder and its all to do with money PURE and SIMPLE. :pardon:

How can you say 100% if you sell a bird its going to be looked after? people use all sorts of disguises to buy birds! if its a friend or a falconer you know fair enough! but what if its a guy across the other side of the country who talks well and comes across on the boil but you know nothing about him, Hell man if you have lived you should know alot of people are not always what they're cracked up to be, I have known my neighbour for 10 years and I think I know him but he could well be a secret cross dresser or Paedo! its no different dealing with scammers who buy birds who put on a face.

Put your thinking cap on for a while and try coming down from whatever you're on. there could be a Multitude of reasons the Guy wants another bird from the same parents? he could want another one to fly in a cast <Harrishawks>, or perhaps a friend of his wants one? or he genuinly likes that line for future breeding stock? but is it to say he has f****d the bird up like you're Implieing :wallbash:, I very much doubt that or he would'nt want one from the same line!! use your loaf . foreign customers care for there birds just as much as we do...

Could you still answer some of my question above in the previouse post?

Thats fair comment Chris. I have sold a fair few birds abroad in the past and to be honest have no problem with it! I have seen the Hack pens they are loosed into prior to exporting but seldom get feedback on them unless like I said earlier a customer wants one from the same line, This year I had one male left which went abroad due to a let down. the rest went to UK falconers who by all accounts have done well with them.

Double clutching is not always done for a financial point of view. its also used to safe guard against losses in the first clutch should there be any, perhaps the first clutch could be Infertile so from my point of view I think its far more cruel to allow the pair to sit eggs full term 32 days and get nothing out of it, I could go in and Individualy candle them but double clutching is the way I prefer. this particular pair will double clutch weather I pull them or not but obviously later!! she will rear youngster to a certain age and still go down again, its horses for courses and I won't be changing the way I do things now....
