Ullswater

Hi All,

I'm off up to see friends near ullswater soon and wondered if anyone could tell me a bit about fishing it?

what fish does it hold? good areas to fish? techniques? etc.

Only fished it once, and didn,t catch owt, but we were,nt seriously fishing, just passing an hour when we were courting. Its a glacial lake, there is gonna be pike and perch in abundance, almost certainly brown trout, and i do know it contains one or two very rare species, like arctic char, and vendace i think they are called. If you are piking, livebaits, and dead coarse baits are banned, to protect the aforementioned rare species, its sea baits only.

Not sure what is in that Lake but it is HUGE. I drove around it on the way home to Edinburgh a few days ago and it looked great. I saw some people launching some small rowing boats and it looks like you can just pull up and put your boat in anywhere. Let us know how you get on [bANNED TEXT], might have a go myself later this summer.

Spent a week down there a couple of years back, didn't fish it but spent most days swimming in it, iv got some good memories of that place
