The Duncan 802
Shocked me to read that - my pup didn't murmer when she had her first jab at 10 weeks or when she had the 2nd at 12 weeks. Even the microchip implanter didn't bother her. 1 Quote Link to post

Romany 1,065
One of the best male lurchers Ive ever seen was lamping a rabbit one night, the rabbit went through and Paddy jumped the fence after it, on the strike the dog hit an over turned sheep feeder, Paddy had the rabbit, carried it back and jumped the fence on his way..as he jumped I saw his back leg at right angles to the dog, he landed and dropped the rabbit at our feet..I can still remember my mates voice, "Dok, I think hes broke his leg" I check it and the leg was f****d,, we opened the jeep tail gate to carry him to it, he ran and jumped in and lay down, I strapped both back legs together. On our way out the field he got bogged down in these massive tracks made by the forestry tree felling mechines..the dog tipped over in the back..Its took us 2 hours and loads of stones from a wall before we got out, it was breaking light, we had a dog with a broken leg in the back, a deer, and a load of rabbits, and we were on land we shouldnt have been on...at no time during this happening did that dog make a sound, no wimpers, to cries no squeak.. Yeah, lurchers are wingy fuckers arnt they.. 4 Quote Link to post

Flick75 32
Oh that is sad. Loyal, brave dogs like him are special. Quote Link to post
bo88y 46
it is funny what punishment they can soak up without complaint, but then cry like like being murdered at the daftest of things, Seen them being opened like a zip on fences, speared in the chest with a branch run into a plough and never mutter a squeek but then cry out in horror, cos its stuck upside down in between the couch cushions, or cos it ran into a two inch deep puddle wi a frozen crust (it was a pup then ) its all part of why i think they are the best dogs, regardless of breeding Quote Link to post
j1985 1,984
The vet that jabbed my pup keeps a whippet and a lurcher of some sorts and was banging on about how she's gonna freak out, cry and possibly piss everywhere when he jabs her!! She didn't even notice. Then he "advised me" to get her chipped when I "apparently" bring her back at 6 months old to get her spayed (wanker) so she'd be under anaesthetic and it won't hurt her!! My misses said the look I was giving him wad priceless..told the dopey Cnut to just do it and again she didn't care a bit. Don't use that vet anymore. sambam 8
my dog never moaned when he got his jabs as a pup but is the biggest pussy i know, iv got a folding garden trelice thing to close the gap between the front room and the passage were he stays and its simply rested on one side of the opening , he could easily push it over with a wag of his tail and be lazing on the sofa but he is petrified of it and wont go near it, my phone was running low the other night so i plugged it in and sat on the sofa the wire trailing acorss the floor and again would he fook step or jump over it just winged because his bed was the other side of the wire, out the house hes ok but gets scitty around other dogs when on the lead, off lead he is fine and just wants to play, out lamping he thinks hes hard as nails lol but i know different lol 1 Quote Link to post
