Did the vet DEFINATELY say it was some kind of poisening ? I ask, because you say the dogs were f****d, and it's a pup, (how old ?), and it seems like it had a stroke or some sort of aneurism. I remem

Could be some sort of insectiside (sp) or growth chemical used by farmers to spray on crops. Fuel from a truck/tractor. Could be something someone has dumped. Doubt you will find out.

Shocking though. Hope the dog makes a full recovery. Never heard of that happening before though. Everyone allows their dogs to drink from puddles!

Antifreeze is pretty lethal stuff for dogs and the worst part about it is it tastes sweet to them so they lap it up.Lost a dog to it myself years ago same kind of thing fitting, blindness, no cure not a nice ending at all.

very true, i had a mate who lost his 2 dogs to antifreeze but also some farmers use a chemical which contains carbendizene which is absolutly lethal if it gets into water the slightest bit can cause the same effects if not kill its been banned for a few year now but some do still use it if they have some left in stock,so if they been spraying for a fungal problem or pesticide then it may of been used...i make a point of taking a bottle of water out with me and try my best not to let the dogs drink from puddles, sterams or ponds atb steve

did they test her for leptospirosis , im sure they would have. this disease can cause the effects your dog had and been known to happen to dogs who have been innoculated against the disease

No word of a lie, when i was working up at the farm doing turkeys this christmas, a few farmers where helping out from other yards for there free turkey, theyve put poison down that the foxes eat and survive from but when a dog gets the blood into its system its f****d and eventually dead dog, ive told people who live near mine to watch out, dont kno how true it is but this c*nt shoots dogs and said to me if i see yours of a lead it'll stay a puppy, some basterds about

i do believe lepto attacks the liver more than anything else then shuts the nerve system down which could cause a fit which could possibly cause brain damage leading to the blindness

but for it to happen to the lads dog that quick i would think it was more likely to be a chemical or antifreeze.... if was you davehunter i would of went back an took a sample from the puddle atb
