Ideation 8,216
Great kit in some senses, but lets not lie, they are an over priced piece of badly made shit I'm f*****g sick of trying to figure out why its not working, and you KNOW if it says 4 foot, it's either 3, or 5, never fecking 4! Brimmer 220
Whin how come you,re spelling is great in the morning and gets worse as the day goes on? Lol. Nice to hear of the effort put in to find the lost ones guys. And yep locaters are stupidly expensive for what they are, but cheap if you value the ferret, and the size of the bag you can get with them. Quote Link to post

IMO its got nothing to do with if you value your ferret, my ferts are cared for really, really well. Not using a locator dosen't make me think any less of my ferts, accidents happen even with locators fitted, like I said earlier what if your fert went off the box and was lost, you've not only lost your fert but £60 of collar aswell. Theres many positives to using them thats a given, but at £200 for a locator and 1 collar also very expensive. Quote Link to post

Think if it is at the max on an 8ft box then its probably way too much for most to dig out, even i would leave it 20 mins or so before i started with the blade at that deprh lol. Yep cannot deny they are overpriced, badly made tat. ( apart from the mk 1's.). Quote Link to post

If I could afford one I'd buy one in an heartbeat to be honest if purely for not leaving dead rabbits down warrens, its just with young kids and being out of work theres things that are more important. 1 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
I do like my collars at times, if i'm on my own at a big set, in the woods, especially in the early season with all the cover still about, it's nice to know the ferret is still to ground, and roughly where she might be. But even with locators we always seem to find places where you are f****d for digging, either off the box, or in such a place where digging isnt an option. And johnny is just bitter cos the one time we put the colars on his jiills, we had to dig a man sized hole through rock on the side of a mountain, to two collars stuck on some submerged metal. We dug through a fecking car. And only got one collar back. Not everyone ferrets in fields. However, you cant beat it when knowing you ferret is stuck to ground in a wee bank, you whip out the spade and dig through 2 ft or less of soft soil, to pull out two rabbits in five mins, rather than a 20 min wait and no bunnies. But if you think about it and you were smart, in that situation (and with a good dog), might you have figured out where to dig anyway? 1 Quote Link to post
