fresh food help

i gave my jill a rabbit to eat on tuesday and all she has ate of it in 2 days is about 2 inch squared on the head, do some ferrets just not like eating rabbits?? or is she just not hungry?? please help

Mine have spells on how much they eat sometimes only a little but other times they eat the lot mate one rabbit too one Jill seems

A lots too me but two days old I would chuck it and put fresh in ? How old is she has she seen meat before? Is it skinned or whole ?

i dont kno what she used to be fed on pal, i got her off a lad on facebook, it had bin worked but i dunno what it had bin fed on, he sed she is about 1 but i think 1 and a half because of when there in season. and i knew she wouldnt eat it all but i thought she wud just eat as much as she wanted?? and it was full and not skinned and chucked it now

My hob likes rabbit normally and chicken .....put one in the other day and hardly touched it. I should try dry food an see how she goes with that....then introduce meat in small quantities and see if she'll eat it. As long as she is eating well on other foods i wouldnt be too concerned

Sounds like mine they wound rather have dry then meat seems like it less effort too eat dry than meat I just has too keep putting meat in they will eat it then hungry mate

1 rabbit for a jill is far too much, mine get 1 rabbit every 2 days for 4 jills and 1 massive hob and they are very fleshy and fatty, 2 of the jills are probably overweight.

should i chop the fresh and only give her so much? if so how much??

Try her with a back leg see how she fairs with that..........if not and you really want her on fresh food then try blending in a blender make a sort of puree so she gets to taste it........she may be like my missus ....lazy :laugh:

Also try with a bit of liver or heart next to her dry food ...not mixed with it but next to it....she if she'll take to it....or cook the rabbit or chicken and try her with that

thanks lads, maybe i was abit stupid thinking i could throw a full rabbit in and she would start munching it, thanks for the help

Mine normally tan a rabbit a night per hutch in a sitting but just now im cutting a rabbit in half and im getting bits left in both hutches ,
