kenny14 656
I regularly get Owls coming to the call. Tawnys seem to come in to investigate most of the calls, but Barn Owls seem to mostly come to the higher pitched squeeking sounds.

Malt 379
We've had them come in when squeaking foxes in by hand before now. Not sure what type of owls do it though...

When my grandad was a keeper he used to squeek in the bog owls and try and shoot em so that they dropped in the back of the pick-up! Only joking, but they come in a treat mate, as do barn owls. I could take you out on the fell here and squeek in barns and tawnys so that they are hovering over your head, would make a cracking photo.

Romany 1,065
Ive some shorteareds locally, feeding on the fields late afternoon till dusk, just a bit too far out for my camera, tried squealing myself, but never was very good at it..just thought there was a fox call that you can buy that works well
dogs-n-natives 1,182
All my land has excellent populations of owls, Ive also squeeked in long and short eared owls. I help them breed each year by providing nest boxes in the sheds, they are used most years. If you want to get some awesome pics give me a shout.

Kenny is there any specific make of call that they come to that your using? I use a variety of different calls, but over the years I would say that I've personally had most come to a 'Fox call'. I've been using a Foxpro electronic caller for a couple of years now, and they also come well to that. Last year I placed the caller at about head height on a quarry face, then sat about 70 yards away and set it calling using a Field Mouse distress call. Within a couple of minutes there were six pairs of eyes sat on the rocks peering down at it, all tawnys, and the closest was almost sat on top of the caller.
tegater 789
Romany. I have a Johnny Stewart predator call I occasionally use, when I need to place the call away from me. If there are brown owls about they go mad for it, and sometimes circle around it only a few feet away. The bog owls will come to it as well as little owls but they dont seem quite as interested. It only seems to pull in the boggies in the spring/summer.
