I wouldn't say it was unsporting but I see your point it did seem contrived, or artificial to have such a crowd waiting for the right moment to flush. They certainly aren't getting the best out of their eagles hunting like that on flat land, so it would take a very fit eagle to fly down many 'fairer' flights resulting in a pissed off eagle lacking confidence. So you need to let the eagle know it can win, or it won't try or give up too easily. I prefer the gutsy little male goss's having a go at hare, but I think there is quite a lot of dick measuring going on with crowds like that as you could get more sport out of a harris or redtail on land like that I really miss my falconry years now Quote Link to post Share on other sites
