I find this way more racist.....how would it have been taken if a white person said this?

You're right, but the main reason why most white people are incensed by the way these things are handled is because they know what would happen the other way round.....if white people weren't jumped o

I think you need to change 2 words in your statement mate.... IS BECOMING to HAS BECOME

I'll have to see what she said, and see what she has to say about it myself before I form an opinion on it, but I doubt we'll hear much about it, even if it was a bad thing she said.

According to the article it was in the context of "19th century European colonialism". Tbh it's not the sorta thing that would bother me at all, but as has been said if it was a white person saying similar then there would be resignations expected and a racism investigation! I can easily see it being said as humour but when you are in the possition she is then it is the wrong side of a fine line and she knows it!

Imo the whole country is race mental to both extremes.

If racial issues were treated consistently across the board then I wouldn't have an issue with it, whether they are very lenient or very strict, not arsed as long as everyone gets the same treatment

Half the trouble is that people are that sick and tired of having the whole political correctness thing rammed down their throats. When someone like her comes out with a comment like that, she should expect a verbal tongue lashing from the public and the press accordingly.

In my job there is no black and white were racism is concerned and I dread to think what would happen to me, if I came out with a similar comment. When the shoe is on the other foot we get told "she probably didnt mean what she said, and it has been taken out of context!

The other thing of course that will save her is that she is an MP. We all know what honest and upstanding pillars of the community SOME of them have shown us to be over the past years.

Thats me done.

If it was a black geezer sat in the pub saying the same thing I'd more than likely laugh and tell him he's full of shit, I'd not think anything of it at all, but her in her position and how I've seen white people being made out to be some sort of monster all because of some stupid comment, I think she should be sacked!

The thing with her statement is though is that she's putting out this "Us and them" attitude by saying "white people love to play divide and rule, We should not play their game". Which is a lot different than saying you black b*stard in a fit of rage like John Terry.
