bitch hunting up

Recommended Posts

had some bad luck this season with loosing 2 working dogs, anyway cut a long story short i aquired a 14 month old bitch had hadnt seen any thing. 1st night out 2 slips and 2 catchs both retrieved to hand, so last night went out to get her a few more easy slips. quarry was plenty on the ground 1st slip she missed and came back, 2nd slip was a near miss and that was it nose to ground and off she went. eventually got her back, bit of a tellin off and on we went. then 3rd and final slip missed it and gone again, i could see her looking for her quarry up and down the hegde, got her back 5 mins later. now the bitch has had a good recall before that. And today when i walked her she was straight back after 1 call. I no the craic with taking on older dogs but i needed something to fiil the gap till the season ends. ive got pups for next season that will taught the right way. just any suggestions on gettin her out of it? in her favour the moon was up, no wind and rabbits aplenty...
