crinky 0
Hi, Both my air guns are in need of alot of TLC. Which one of them would you advise me to re-condition. I have a HW80 .25, its all there apart from the butt pad and a few screws but it looks very short in the barrel. Has the barrel length been reduced? if so has this ruined the gun? The other is a webley xocet, had it for years and really like it. Ill put up some pics of the weihrauch see what you think. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj271/crinky1984/IMAG0225.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj271/crinky1984/IMAG0227.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj271/crinky1984/IMAG0228.jpg http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj271/crinky1984/IMAG0229.jpg Edited January 4, 2012 by crinky Quote Link to post

BLACKHEART 61
if the hw80 is gasram -they are easy to tune and .25 have good stopping power-you can add a silencer for barrel lenght as it might be a carbine-dont know much about the exocet-last webley i owned was a tracker side lever which infairness was a good gun.atb Quote Link to post
8shot 192
does it say hw80k on the gun ??? Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
The 80s chopped as its shorter than the K model. I've put up my for sale .22 full length (prefer my hw80k) which although is the shorter model is about 3 times the length of the one in your pics. Does it group well at 30 yards? If so no worries there. Atb Chris. Quote Link to post
crinky 0
No, it just says HW80. And its powered by a spring. What are they like to change for a new one? Quote Link to post
crinky 0
To be honest ive only ever shot it once so dont have a clue how it groups. Why would you shorten the barrel, does it make the gun more powerful? Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
No it doesn't help with power or accuracy, i'm going to post a vid from youtube that shows how to take apart and assemble the rifle. Take no time atal and only requires the minimum of tools. You must find out first if its sub 12ft/lbs so to avoid injury when removing the mainspring. Al go and find the vid now. Atb Chris. crinky 0
So am i right in thinking the barrel was reduced to make it lighter? Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
shorter maybe, lol mind you it is short, depends if it was done by someone with a haxsaw or done professionally Edited January 4, 2012 by robwelsh Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
Yeah perhaps, I reckon the've overdone it but if it shoots well fare dues.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPdh_nPjF8g This guys does a good job of explaining how its done. The assembly of the on his other vid is cock on too with the all important correct greasing of the parts prior to the assembly. I use Bisley gun grease and it works great with no dieseling at all. Hope this helps. Atb Chris. Quote Link to post
