Nitesite NS50 Battery

I know some you don't like the new Nitesite kit but for those of you who do you might be intrested to know you can get a much lighter battery.

 

The current unit is 3.3amp and weighs a ton, this new one is 4.8amp Lithium Ion and weighs next to nothing, it's also about the same size as a packet of fags. So small in fact you could probably attach it to your rifle.

 

I am normaly a bit reluctant to order stuff from Hong Kong etc but this battery arrived in less than a week.

 

I haven't give it a full go yet but I plugged it in to my NS50 tonight and it's still going strong now 3hrs and 50 minutes later. I know the origional battery is rated for about 5 hrs so we'll see how good this one performs after a few trials, but with it being Lithium Ion it shouldn't have any of the problems normaly associated with Lead batteries.

 

For just under £16.00 inc postage you can't go wrong.

After having the battery for a few days I can confirm that it more than meets up to the standard of the supplied nitsite battery.

 

It will lasy 2 hours when the unit is on it's highest setting and over 6 hours when the unit is set midway.

Hello, Slightly off topic kind of, but are they any good these nightsite bit of kit... I have read a lot over past week but i am in two minds does it warrant that much of my cash?

iv got the ns200 and its fcuking mint! the only thing is like most add-ons you only see what you would through your scope so spotting takes time and you have to hold your gun up which is not the best! but thats why iv got a monocular with ir laser to spot game! stactic takes the piss its that easy its like cheating lol

i have the nitesite ns 50 and i think there a great bit of kit,i would much rather use it than lamp , my kills have increased because of it , both rats and rabbits hate it though as i have been hitting them hard ,the image quality is great and i dont think you will get any better nv for that kind of money.

I have to disagree with the above statement!

 

buy your self a Sony handy cam,a IR300 laser from Nite-Hunter.com and a couple of step up filters and your there!

with the added bonus of record function jobs a good n.

hi Davy , my mate tried the handy cam route , and i dnt think it was that great , the image he got was only good out to 25 yards and it took a long time to get his gun zeroed , the handy cam was moving the reticle all over the place and in the end he gave up, at least with the ns50 you just stick it on and if your scope is zeroed before hand then its just a matter of sticking it on and away you go, i suppose its just down to what you like ,im not sure what Ir light he used but it cost about £90. I can see both sides of the argument regrding whether the nitesite system is worth the cash. I personaly believe that for static shooting especialy rat shooting nothing gets close. And with this new battery that I'm using the weight issue isn't even a factor.

 

What I would suggest to those who are thinking of buying this system is to get down to a local gun shop that stocks the kit and try it for yourself.

It won't suit everyone but hey thats life.

me and o/h have mad a different version to nite site shooting bunnies at 100yards with it we are also making a handheld one for spotting
