A bit of practice

Went for a days long range ? shooting over the border This area is one of our better areas for lamping foxs the first rabbit was only 108 yds but presented a small target so was quite challenging , I went to an area where i thought i could get some desent range shots at rabbits , The day was hot so this could have been why there wasnt much showing as i know there are plenty rabbits here , i got settled down after doing a bit of glassing i spotted a fox come out of a wood to the left on the far bank this is when the heart started to race a bit ,i was quite suprised to see it at mid day , i ranged it at 303 yds it was just sniffing around the rabbit set , i didnt want to try and get closer incase i disturbed the stock that was in the field in front of me resulting in disturbing the fox The fox made its way to the large tree to the left of the gorse bush i ranged it at 296 yds set the first mill dot on its chest and started to pull on the trigger before i knew it the fox roled its head back its legs buckled and down it went not a real long range shot but to say i was buzzing was an understatment

I went on to shoot another three rabbits at 199 , 208 & 245 yds and missing three shots at a little over 140 yds why i dont know Not a big bag could have shot plenty at 100 & under but i was after quality shots not quantity , all in all it was an enjoyable day no wonder people get a buzz from longrange shooting varmints

The scope p&g is a Nightforce 12-42 x56 precision benchrest

Very expensive scope, but very good by all accounts.
