moonlighter 1,164
I heard of a guy who struggled to sell his last litter of pure well bred saluki last year.... So this time he put a poodle over his saluki bitch and they sold like the proverbial hot cakes! Salikioodle lol Quote Link to post

Good Man 196
lad here in ireland, about 19 years ago, bought a pure saluki from uk, he had seen the parents work well in some decent big fields and catch a lot of stuff, he was mad to get a pup from this mating ans payed £500 for a bitch pup at that time. he had a awfull time raising the pup, even though he had done a lot of research into it and was very patient with the pup, after 3 years, the saluki could not catch a thing!, it just did not try and once got hold of a bunny, only letting it go, after the bunny kicked about! to say he was down about it, was a understatement! I think he was just unlucky and got the bad one from the litter, as id say not all fail from the same litter was like that, but a lot do seem to fail, its a risky one to take in my opinion, unless you have a lot of money already! coursing caspa 10
its ya sport and to me its worth every penny..the sheer buzz of owning a dog that can go and kill 3 to 5 bunneys is unreal..and wat a feeling when u raise a young bitch or dog that you brout or bred to turn out special.and to have great coursing men watch it run and rate it even try and buy.is a great feeling 1 Quote Link to post
whin 463
pure breeds are overrated for cacthing game always has been , and to pay lots of money to run a banned sport nowadays cant see the sense in it hunting wise , but we need some pures to keep other blood going ,at times , a sensible price for any well bred worked dog , im not talikng about showing etc , i mean working week in week out on there chosen qaurry 200 to 500 no more no less ,only people who gain from charging a grand is the breeders not hunting people , there is nothing wrong with charging a fair price but not an over valuated price , 3 Quote Link to post
