Wanted wanted nice pistol for hunting small pests

hi all my little brother has got some money left from xmass n he is after a nice pistol for hunting small pests spring would be better or maybe gas can anyone help

all pistols are legally 6flbs or under as much use for hunting as an asda carrier bag

Pistols are no good fo hunting,, you should aim to make a kill quick and humane,, you won`t do that with a pistol bud,,

Totally agree an air rifle is a more suitable weapon for pests, but many years ago, I shot loads of rats and mice, around the buildings with an old webley .22 pistol, and I shot bucketfuls of baby rabbits in the garden, having rested on top of the garden wall with a cr

Crossman pump up .22.

 

It does sometimes depend on the quarry, the range and your skill, however I wouldn't do it now, because I have more suitable tools for the job.

i know im new here so might not be taken seriously but ive hunted for along time using air rifles but i also have a crosman 2240 pistol it has the stock of the ratcatcher scope ect but standard barrel and power !! i have killed countless rats, pigeons and 1 rabbit with it not at huge range but 10-15 meters 1 shot kills my old man is amazed how good it is ........

 

so coming from someone that has a pistol and has used it for hunting and told by the gun shop it was the only pistol they sold that would kill small pests i would recommend it highly i also had the rat catcher before this and i also found that a great gun and with the extra bit of power was great hope this helps you a little
