Rake aboot 4,936
What do you want folk to tell you ?? If you think you need more ferrets,, then use more ferrets,, If you do large burrows,, one ferret could chase rabbits in circles all day.. obvious really 1 Quote Link to post
killer6 38
We all ways take four or five with us because some setts are big. How big are the setts that you are doing with the jill ferret. Quote Link to post
shabadoodoo 16
depends on how many setts there is, if only a few setts just take 1 but if u making a day of it take a few, people have diff views on it so if u feel u need another, take enother Quote Link to post
The one 8,529
I take one ferret per ten holes im expecting to work ,so your limiting yourself to smaller burrows Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
I have always used Two, unless i was just going out for a mooch, means you can give one a rest, or if if im in a big warren, i can use the two. 1 Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
I use as many as I can....Plenty of ferret power gets them moving 1 Quote Link to post
foxing machine 144
its up to you realy mate and depend on the size of the burrow you ferret realy. i have always used two ferrets that way you can use them alternatly so the get a little rest. i wouldent go craizy tho mate you have to remember they all have to be housed and fed. just keep the amount you can afford to mate atb fm 1 Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
I take one ferret per ten holes im expecting to work ..................so I can put 2 toes in each hole ,so your limiting yourself to smaller burrows. Ideation 8,216
I'm with the One. Although i have a couple of jills here who i would send down a bigger warren alone and they would get it done. Just takes longer really! Quote Link to post
Malt 379
I usually stick to one but most of the buries round here are of the small bank/hedgerow type. Even if we occasionally do a bigger one I'll still start with one ferret. If she's down a while and not exiting the holes I assume she's being given the run abound and slip another one down. AndyKelly 251
remember 1 ferret has little legs and like us dosent like to work all day without a rest! Quote Link to post
AndyKelly 251
you need to get a few more ferrets mate! 1 Quote Link to post
BazB 37
we take 4 jills, and a hob or 2.and use 2 at a time Quote Link to post
jimster68 123
i use quickset long nets ,so i tend to use 3 ferrets at the same time to get the rabbits bolting .the thing with useing long nets is sometimes a a rabbit will bolt from one hole to another (because i tend to use long nets not every hole is netted)i find this is my chosen method and it works well for me .i always take 4 ferrets use 3 and rotate and rest one if any start looking tired .
